About Me

My Background

This is a detail of the Home of New Vision in Jackson, Michigan

I've returned to art 3 times, and they say that's the charm! I agree! Art is one of my passions from an early age. Specifically plein air or painting from life and pastels.

I've taken several classes and workshops on both and will continue to. Consistent practice helps me to improve my skills. I'm a plein air pastel painter for sure.

My Medium

This piece was done on the banks of the upper Manistee River, near Grayling Michigan.

I paint in soft pastel currently with a watercolor under painting and finished with pastel pencils for the fine details.

My Inspiration

This is one of my favorites. It is a painting of the Sharon Mills, millrace, Manchester Michigan

I find most of my inspiration in nature, the ever changing landscape as well as architecture. Painting in plein air around the Jackson area and beyond.

Water of all kinds calls to me the most.
